WSWS - After Massachusetts: Obama fakes anti-Wall Street stance - “This is a potted history that downplays the central role that Obama himself and his top economic policy advisers played. Obama supported the bailout begun under the Bush administration and voted for it in the Senate. As the Democratic presidential nominee and heavy favorite to win the November election, his support was necessary for passage, and he pledged that if elected his administration would continue the program.”

Global Research - The Obama Administration’s Cover-up of the Flight 253 Affair -  ‘However, the real bombshell came last Wednesday during hearings before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee when Bushist embed, and current Director of the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), Michael E. Leiter, made a startling admission. CongressDaily reported on January 22 that intelligence officials “have acknowledged the government knowingly allows foreigners whose names are on terrorist watch lists to enter the country in order to track their movement and activities.” Leiter told the Committee: “I will tell you, that when people come to the country and they are on the watch list, it is because we have generally made the choice that we want them here in the country for some reason or another.”

Raw Story - Obama confident of repeat Fed term for Bernanke: adviser  - “The president is very confident that the chairman will be confirmed,” said adviser David Axelrod, who praised Bernanke’s handling of the recent global economic meltdown. “Chairman Bernanke offered very strong and steady leadership during this crisis, without which we… may have slipped into the abyss. And we are still in a fragile state, although the economy is growing,”

… and now, in the “Holy Shit” category…

ABC News - U.S. Mulls Legality of Killing American al Qaeda “Turncoat” - “White House lawyers are mulling the legality of proposed attempts to kill an American citizen, Anwar Awlaki, who is believed to be part of the leadership of the al Qaeda group in Yemen behind a series of terror strikes, according to two people briefed by U.S. intelligence officials.”

(first of all, they already attempted to assassinate this man and have admitted as much. That was the strike in Yemen that happened before the Umar Sizzlepants show, which killed 17 children among others, that was their first attempt. Secondly, why is President Peace Prize considering the legality of assassinating U.S. Citizens in the first place? Do they actually think there may be a “clause” somewhere that allows for the extrajudicial killing of U.S. citizens just because someone in the NSA or the CIA SAYS they have links to terrorists?)

While Awlaki has not been charged with any crimes under U.S. law, intelligence officials say recent intelligence reports and electronic intercepts show he played an important role in recruiting the accused “underwear bomber” Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab. Awlaki also carried on extensive e-mail communication with the accused Fort Hood shooter, Major Nidal Hasan, prior to the attack that killed 12 soldiers and one civilian.

(The emails that they are talking about between Hasan and Awlaki have already been reviewed and reported to have had no “terrorist” implications. They were reported to have been sent by Hasan and in complete accordance with the work Hasan had been doing for Ft. Hood. That’s why they won’t make those emails public.)

… In the case of Awlaki, born in New Mexico and a college student in Colorado and California, a strike aimed to kill him would stretch current Presidential authority given to the CIA and the Pentagon to pursue terrorists anywhere in the world.

(Really? An attempt to assassinate a U.S. citizen based on falsified documents and flat-out lies told by “undisclosed officials” would “stretch current presidential authority“? What a shame. I thought we lived in a country that would allow Obama-God to kill anyone he damned well pleased. Isn’t that in the Bill of Rights or something?)

Hundreds of FBI and other federal agents will fan out this week as part of a secret operation to pursue leads about Americans with connections to Yemen that were previously dismissed as not significant, according to law enforcement officials.

(Kill any Yemenis who are trying to help with the uprising in the south of Yemen and kill any U.S. citizen who is also trying to help. Round them up and kill them. If President CHANGE says it’s ok, then goddamn it, it MUST be for the good of the country.)

In reference to that very same interview between Awlaki and Abdulelah Hider Shaea  that ABC News mentions in this story, Shaea says this; “Abdulelah Hider Shaea, a Yemeni journalist who studies Al Qaeda and knows Mr. Awlaki, denied in an interview that the imam was a member of Al Qaeda, saying instead that he served as an articulate window to jihadism for English speakers.”
