The Anger Gone, I Mourn the Death of Slim Shady

by Scott Creighton

And when I’m gone, just carry on, don’t mourn
Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice

Perhaps the worst part of the new world order forming around us is what it does to our memories. Like seeing a former high school sweetheart on an internet porn site, the reality of the corporatist world infringes on our idealistic misrepresentations of the past with a hateful precision that seems almost custom tailored to demoralize us specifically with a drone-like accuracy and an institutional effectiveness.

First there is anger. Then grief. Because beauty once soured, can never be redeemed.

But baby, wait! — “It’s too late, Dad, you made the choice
Now go up there and show ’em that you love ’em more than us

As the Russian hacking story is slowly being revived from the dead and President Trump race-baits NFL millionaire players with yet another Tweet, statement or stunt, a white rapper named Eminem has produced a little screed of a video for BET in which he calls out the president for being racist and says if you claim to be a fan of his AND the president’s, then “f@ck you”

Any fan of mine who’s a supporter of his, I’m drawing in the sand a line — you’re either for or against. And if you can’t decide who you like more and you’re split on who you should stand beside, I’ll do it for you with this: f*** you,” Eminem

Keith Olbermann is apparently a HUGE rap fan now. That’s Keith O of the phony “revolution™” not to be confused with Prince and the Revolution. One is as fake as a 3 dollar bill and the other was the real deal forever and ever, amen.

When you find yourself being applauded by Keith Olbermann with little clapping icons in a Tweet, you can probably say goodbye to your anti-establishment street cred. As if your million dollar mansions, tax attorneys and luxury cars didn’t serve as a clue before that.

Too say 47-year-old Marshall Bruce Mathers grew up poor is an understatement. Once his parents split, he grew up with his mother in a bad section of Detroit and he dreamed of taking a way out that many in those streets dreamed of then, dream of now. The only way out other than prison, addition or death. Rap.

Marshall worked for minimum wage washing dishes after dropping out of high school. He washed dishes, helped support his mother and worked on his craft. He became M&M and later Eminem and rose to height in the business as he was known for his honest, painfully honest lyrics.

But he also became Slim Shady, a kind of brutal alter ego, something darker living within him struggling to get out. Apparently he wasn’t alone and his Slim Shady LP went triple platinum in it’s first year (1999)

Marshall had arrived in a limo driven by Slim.

Performance is a poor man’s therapy and after his rough upbringing, Marshall needed a lot.

In 2003 Eminem released a single called “We As Americans” in which he included the following lines:

“Fuck money / I don’t rap for dead presidents / I’d rather see the president dead / It’s never been said, but I set precedents

He was investigated by the Secret Service for that one.

Back then Eminem opposed the president because he lied us into wars of aggression. Because he was a criminal who supported torture. Because he was a buffoon and a tool of the new world order.

And probably because it was a popular position to hold in the eyes of his fan base.

But as a writer he was brilliant and he was honest and that combination in any field will bear positive results.

Perhaps the most brutally honest self-examination he offered through his art came via a single he simply called When Im Gone. As a successful star, he laments the pain and suffering he caused his wife and young daughter as he behaved in the selfish, self-absorbed manner familiar to far too many who taste celebrity in the cesspool that is the American music industry.

And when I’m gone, just carry on, don’t mourn
Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice

From his time as a young wannbe “white rapper from Detroit” being taken under the wing of Dr. Dre to the mega star he is now, Marshall Mathers has always been brilliant and honest in his approach to his art.

Until now.

That’s an awfully hot coffee pot,
Should I drop it on Donald Trump? Prob’ly not,
But that’s all I got ’til I come up with a solid plot.
Got a plan and now I gotta hatch it,
Like a damn Apache with a tomahawk,
I’m a walk inside a mosque on Ramadan,
And say a prayer that every time Melania talks,
She gets a mou— ah, I’m a stop.

Standing in front of a group of young black men wearing hoodies and sitting on “street cred” worthy pimped-out OldsMAHbuicks from the 90s, Eminem recorded a video of him doing his “angry black man”rap routine calling out the president for everything from his insulting Hillary Clinton and John McCain to his not pushing “gun control” measures in the wake of the Las Vegas mass casualty event.

He produced this little race-baiting production in response to what he says is Trump’s race-baiting distraction with the NFL.

But this is his form of distraction,
Plus, he gets an enormous reaction,
When he attacks the NFL, so we focus on that,
Instead of talking Puerto Rico or gun reform for Nevada,
All these horrible tragedies and he’s bored and would rather,
Cause a Twitter storm with the Packers.

Hook, line and sinker the multi-millionaire white guy bites the bait and sells the cancer to his darker skinned fans at BET like a whore spreading AIDS to her johns for a 20-rock.

BET is owned by VIACOM. which is owned by Sumner Redstone who also owns CBS, MTV, Comedy Central, Viacom Media Networks and Paramount Pictures just to name a few of his holdings.

Redstone is a longtime backer of the Clinton crime family and even endorsed the same George W. Bush that Slim Shady wanted to kill.

His parking garage, corporate street-cred ready rap video which has now gone viral among those suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome sounds more like it was written by John Podesta or one of the many neocons who backed Killary than it sounds like he wrote it.

He says, “You’re spittin’ in the face of vets who fought for us you bastards,”
Unless you’re a POW who’s tortured and battered,
‘Cause to him, you’re zeros,
‘Cause he don’t like his war heroes captured.
That’s not disrespecting the military…

The rest of America stand up,
We love our military, and we love our country,
But we f—ing hate Trump

Love the military, love John McCain, love for Killary Clinton, pushing “gun reform” and open borders… and race-baiting. All the establishment talking point memos for the day and there they are being giving a voice by Slim Shady.

Did you know back in the day one of his raps included the line…

Make me king, as we move toward a, new world order
A normal life is borin’, but super stardom’s close to post mortem

Yes, a normal life is boring. And it’s hard. Once I heard a line in Bladerunner go something like this “You know the score. You’re either cop or you’re little people”

Seems Slim Shady knows the score to.

Weeks ago Donald Trump gave a speech in which he baited NFL players, practically daring them to take a knee in opposition to him more than anything else. And they obliged.

A week ago he Tweeted another bit of bait and they bit on it the same way.

This past week he had his VP stage a little walk-out stunt at an Indy game and now the billionaire owners are drawing their line in the sand and the millionaire players are sure to respond this coming weekend.

All while Syria continues to drive our terrorists out with help from the dreaded Russians and Trump pushes his neoliberal tax plan like Ronnie Raygun on meth.

False flag mass casualty events are starting to unfold under the Trump administration, a holdover from the Obama days.

And race relations are reaching a boiling point while we frogs just sit here listening to Slim Shady rap his Podesta version of Trump’s poisonous pill.

Same s— that he tormented Hillary for and he slandered,
Then does it more,
From his endorsement of Bannon,
Support for the Klansmen,
Tiki torches in hand for the soldier that’s black,
And comes home from Iraq,
And is still told to go back to Africa,
Fork and a dagger in this racist 94-year-old grandpa,
Who keeps ignoring our past historical, deplorable factors…

“He’s gonna get rid of all immigrants!”
“He’s gonna build that thing up taller than this!”
Well, if he does build it, I hope it’s rock solid with bricks,
‘Cause like him in politics, I’m using all of his tricks,
‘Cause I’m throwin’ that piece of s— against the wall ’til it sticks,

Is Podesta writing his ignorant race-baiting drivel or was it Rachel Maddow… or maybe Keith Olbermann. I suppose it doesn’t matter other than it certainly wasn’t Marshall Mathers.

In the world we live in today, where every TV show is a 30-minute exercise in pro-war/pro-establishment propaganda and every country music song is a tribute to soldering for the offspring of the poor and unfortunate who never stood a chance at college, seeing the rap industry led down the same primrose path by their token “white rapper from Detroit” millionaire seems fitting doesn’t it?

He says “it’s for Colin” but we know that’s not true. Its’ for Hillary or Sumner or VIACOM or … well, honestly… for Trump himself when you think about it. But Colin? He’s still out of a job.

When I first started writing this I titled it “A Left of Bernie-bro Says: No Slim, Fuck You” but I have sense moved past anger.

I grieve now. Grieve for a youth and an impressionistic period in my life that is being pissed on every day by so many out there who serve THEMSELVES.

Slim Shady, Eminem, Marshall Mathers… they wrote about that back when they were honest artists. They admitted it. They regretted it. They atoned for it.

Now that they are kings thought, heavy is the head that wears the crown. Because, neoliberalism, corporatism, the new world order we struggle so hard against, it takes it’s toll from the top like it does from those on the bottom. Attention must be paid as the saying goes. You live by the creed, you serve it when it demands service.

Eminem was never a soldier in the trenches like many of us. But he was a voice. An honest one. And an artist. An honest one. Rare as they are these days, it pains me to see him reduced in such a way. But that is the world we live in. So I mourn. I mourn our failures. I mourn our lost idealism. I mourn just one more talent sold out to a system that demands such sacrifice.

I mourn the death of Slim Shady may he rest in peace.

That’s Slim Shady, yeah baby Slim Shady’s crazy
Shady made me
But tonight, Shady’s rock-a-bye baby

  1. Never realized it but we do grieve about the changes in our
American system….. you have described the actual feeling that stirs the anger …. a mourning that cannot be buried… it drips like sweat from our brows…..
beautifully written, Scott…… many mourn with you.

  2. Beautifully written, Scott. We all mourn with you…

  3. Scott,
Amazed at your wealth of information. A lot to like in this article, which comes off as poetic at times. Liked the reference to Prince, who was so into chemtrails, the proper name of which nowadays is geoengineering. Searched your site but seems you have not commented much on this this issue. Would like to know your take. IF interested, here’s a good place to start: http://www.geoengineeringwatch.org/

    • The whole premise behind chem trails is flawed. Yes trails are made by the military, maybe they use commercial jets but I doubt it. The trails are for numerous things, but least of which is active campaigns to poison the public. They use it primarily for over the horizon radar reflectivity, hiding military movements from satellite, and weather engineering. I personally think haarp may have had something to do with it because they were so much more prevalent in our skies when haarp was active. Nowadays I see them a couple times a month at most here in SoCal

  4. The Jews want a race war. It is party of the Jew master plan to destroy Christianity and prepare the world for the arrival of Jew messiah. Isn’t it obvious?

  5. Here is a fat shady creep y’ll might be interested:

  6. Hey Scott, love your work. I saw a video a recently of Eminem on live TV looking unconscious but with his eyes open. Really did look like mind control. Super sad
