from RT

New penalties against Moscow proposed by US lawmakers violate international law and officials in Brussels should consider countermeasures, the German economy minister said on Monday.

“We consider this as being against international law, plain and simple,” Brigitte Zypries told the Funke Mediengruppe newspaper chain.

  1. Perhaps a time will come at some point in the future when NOT having been sanctioned by the US will be a shameful chapter in the history of a nation or at the very least a reason for suspicion…

  3. They’ll fume, fuss and cuss, but in the end, nothing serious will happen. Briefcases filled with $100 dollar bills are already being circulated to tamp down this minor insurrection.

    • didn’t they send pallets of $100 bills in Iraq so we could buy off all the pissed off politicians who survived Shock and Awe? I think that’s the market rate at this point. Expect the Pentagon to “lose” another couple billion in the next few months

      • I remember reading that the money was used to buy off the Generals. I also read that the distribution method used was to stuff the money into duffle bags and throw the bags into trucks; so no real idea of where it went. I always half suspected that the bags went right back on the plane to be dropped off at the usual suspect’s homes.

    • I don’t see this as a sign that the Krauts are having second thoughts about the prospects of NATO’s big adventure: Barbarossa III. Being highly efficient Teutonic types, they just want to maximize profits in the meantime before open war kicks off.

But I imagine German weapons manufacturers are hurting on account of zee verboten Turkish market. Maybe a few billion dollar briefcases would ease their pain a bit?
