Israel Attacked Syrian Military Targets in Syria: One IDF Plane Shot Down Another Damaged

by Scott Creighton

Israel has been illegally attacking the Syrian Arab Army on behalf of the “ISIS” destabilization team for some time now.

“Last month, it was reported that Israeli military aircraft conducted an airstrike on the Syrian government forces stationed in the western countryside of Damascus near the Lebanese border.

Prior to that, Israel bombed a military airport near Damacus. A Syrian official told Sputnik that it was done “to encourage and support terrorists”. Damascus vowed repercussions.” Sputnik

Israel is on record as saying they prefer “ISIS” to Assad. Their military leaders have stated they fear if “ISIS” is defeated then the superpowers will leave and they will be left in a tough situation and so they should do what they can to see that “doesn’t happen”

We also have reports that Israel has been providing military and medical assistance directly to the “moderates” and “ISIS” alike. This is an undeniable fact, one that some media agencies have done their best to spin.

With President Trump reportedly readying to send another 1,000 U.S. troops into Syria illegally, Israel took the opportunity to target and attack military positions deep inside Syria, which, if any other country did it, would be considered an act of war.

“The General Command of the Army and the Armed Forced announced on Friday that the Syrian air defense downed one of four Israeli warplanes that violated the Syrian airspace and targeted a military site in the eastern countryside of Homs.

According to a statement by the Command, the four Israeli aircrafts violated the Syrian airspace in al-Breij area through the Lebanese territories at 2:40 am.

The Israeli warplanes targeted a military site near Palmyra in the eastern countryside of Homs, said the Army’s Command, confirming that the Syria air defense forces confronted the enemy’s aircrafts and shot down one of them inside the occupied territories, hit another and forced the other two to withdraw.” SANA Mar. 17th

This time the Israelis are admitting they attacked targets in this area. They don’t usually admit it when they illegally invade and attack another country. That might be because there is an Israeli plane lying on the ground over there which will eventually be photographed by the Syrians. Of course, the Israelis are trying their best to spin it to their advantage. In other words, they’re lying already and “fake news” outlet CNN is more than willing to help them do it.

The Israeli military has said it struck several targets inside Syria early Friday morning, an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) statement said. Several anti-aircraft missiles were fired at the Israeli jets, the IDF said, including one missile that was shot down by an “aerial defense system.”…

Israel has reportedly struck Syria multiple times in the past, often targeting weapons shipments headed for Hezbollah. The IDF rarely acknowledges these strikes, however, making Friday’s statement very unusual.” CNN Mar. 17

If he takes the bait, this event will provide President Trump and his pack of wild Zionist advisers all the justification they need to put boots on the ground in Syria and potentially directly attack the Syrian army directly. No more need for Obama’s irregular warfare proxy army of “moderate” terrorists and “KurdISIS” mercenaries.

  1. May the Baathists hang on and restore normality to Syria. The SAA’s resistance to their nation’s destruction has been heroic so far.

  2. If it happens, though, there will be certainly a war with Russia and Turquey (3rd world war). It seems that Israel has been doing this in the past. Now and then, they bomb Damascus. Though, if war happens, you will have guerrilla war fighting from Hezbolah against Israel and that means a lot of trouble to IDF. They can fight conventional wars but not guerrilla wars.

  3. The proxy war failed, so now the Empire is preparing the Libya option, i.e. mass bombing.

Reader Jorge (above) says this will mean war with Russia. Perhaps, but what has Russia done to stop the Israeli attacks on Syria, and stop the growing US invasion of Syria?

    I love this image…

  4. Syria claims that its missiles hit two planes, and brought one down. Israel denies this, saying the Syrian missiles were shot down by Israeli missiles. We know that the Israelis are lying, since (contrary to propaganda) no one has ever invented a non-nuclear way to shoot down missiles. That’s why no nation has ever agreed to purchase the “Iron Dome” system from Israel. Every government knows it is bullshit.

Also, Israel is complaining that the Syrian missiles “violated Israeli-controlled airspace” (meaning defensive Syrian missiles were launched into Syrian airspace).

    • Yeah I wondered about that claim of shooting down missiles as well. Perhaps their aircraft have some new fangled countermeasures? AntiSAM matzo balls?

Any word on whose SAMs these were?

      • The original report from Sana did not say what type of missile was used against the criminal Israeli aircraft. It was probably a Russian S-300P, which has a range of 250 miles, and travels at Mach 7.5. Or a Russian S-400 (aka SA-21). Syria has both. So does Iran.

Meanwhile the Israelis claim that the Syrian missiles were shot down by Israeli Arrow missiles (which are made by Israel but funded by the USA). This is garbage, since the Arrow itself is garbage. No defensive missile system (without a nuclear warhead) has ever been invented that can actually destroy other missiles in flight. A missile can destroy aircraft and drones, but not other missiles. Any military person who claims otherwise is a liar who is trying to get more government funding.

The Israelis will now think twice before they commit more crimes in Syria.

      • The Sputnik blog says, “According to Israeli Channel 10, Israeli planes were targeted by the Syrian government forces using S-200 surface-to-air missile systems, also known as SA-5.”

That’s questionable. The S-200 (aka SA5) is an obsolete Russian system designed in the 1960s.

The Israeli Ynet blog also claims it was S-200s, but nothing from the Israelis can be believed.,7340,L-4936737,00.html

        • Gracias. I suppose obsolete, 1960s Rooski hardware makes sense. Seems like all SAA equipment is Cold war surplus. Whatever they’re using, it’s significant that they decided to start defending their airspace. Better late than never…

          • Well, let’s see what happens. The Russians have done nothing about the U.S. invasion of Syria, or about the strike on the meeting hall in al-Jinah where 300 people were praying.

The Pentagon says it did not target the mosque. Instead, it targeted the prayer hall next to the mosque. Two “Reaper” drones fired all of their Hellfire missiles at the victims. Survivors were then hit with a 500-lb bomb. At least 42 people were murdered, and many more were wounded and maimed.

Perhaps Trump will invite the “Reaper” drone operators to his next speech before Congress, so we can applaud them as “heroes.”

Then again, maybe the Israelis did it, and Trump is covering for them. This would explain why the Pentagon so readily admitted responsibility for the strike.

It’s okay to murder countless people in Muslim nations, but it is “insensitive” to (temporarily) bar them from coming to the USA.

            • A very sensitive situation. As you have already understood, Israel and United Sates of America military are prepared for war (any war). Russia longs for diplomacy. War means misery and many deaths. United States military and IDF only want to use their military capabilities (test new weapons). One side is provocating the other, so that an escalation starts.

            • Yeah, I don’t know what else the Rooskis could do against US forces in Syria without starting WW3? Given the provocations (i.e., Russian aircraft falling out of the sky, diplomats dropping dead) of the last few years I think Vlad has been smart not to take the bait, while still providing just enough support to keep Assad in the fight. Like the 80s flick War Games: Puti wins by not playing the game. Ditto for Ukraine.

              • Putin has been cautious or cunning not to cause confrontation. He is actually sieged by NATO forces everywhere. Though, I also think that he has gained a lot of time, considering that USA and NATO wanted this confrontation in 2014, when rebellion at Maidan started.

  5. I just read that Russia who controls Syrian air space has summoned the Israeli Ambassador. That should be an interesting discussion. I also read that Russia has sent troops into Egypt on the Libyan border purportedly to assist the head of the northern Libyan forces that is led by a former Gadaffi general. Russia, hard at work, as usual.

  6. HBO has a new film designed to justify the murderous U.S. invasion of Syria. Titled “Cries from Syria,” it features all the usual trash (the Empire’s proxy war is a “civil war,” Russia is guilty of “endless atrocities” and “war crimes,” Assad is a “sadistic dictator who slaughters his own people,” etc).

The director, Evgeny Afineevsky, previously did a film titled “Winter on Fire” which justified the U.S.-sponsored coup in Ukraine. During 1994-2000 he produced over 30 musicals in Israel.

Afineevsky’s lies are popular with warmongering fake leftists, such as those at NPR and the Sundance Film Festival. The Washington Post says that “Cries From Syria” deserves an Academy Award, and calls it a “must see.” Much of the film’s propaganda focuses on child refugees, because when the Empire murders women and children, it is always “for the children.” The trashy propaganda closes with new song by Cher, “Prayers for this World,” backed up by singing children.

It’s all designed to justify and legitimize the Empire’s genocide against children worldwide.

    • The trailer for “Cries From Syria” claims that pro-Assad demonstrations are anti-Assad, and that Assad is the one who is hiring “ISIS”™ mercenaries.

It’s non-stop lies from beginning to end.

Remember: every atrocity committed by the Empire against children is “for the children.”

  7. If only I had an instant solution for Syria’s survival.

  8. Evidently the Israelis got a bloodier nose than we thought.

Today (19 March 2017) Israeli Offense Minister Avigdor Lieberman boasted that if Syria continues to defend itself from Israeli attacks, then Israel will destroy Syria’s air defense system “without thinking twice.”

That is the voice of impotence and frustration.

Incidentally I keep claiming that there is no such thing as an anti-missile-missile which actually works. Israeli Channel 10 TV claimed that Israeli Arrow missiles shot down the Syrian missiles. The Israeli military says this is not true, but will say no more.
