Help Spread a Little Wedding Bliss for a Reader?

by Scott Creighton

Hi everyone.

A reader, Kevin Spicer, has set up a GoFundMe page in order to help him raise funds to head up to Missouri so he and his wife can participate in his daughter Chelsea’s wedding on the 10th of Sept. I can’t believe anyone is optimistic enough about the future these days to tie the knot with someone right before the zombie apocalypse … but the kids are young and idealistic and haven’t been hardened by callus cynicism as of yet like the rest of us have, so, good for them. Besides, a little wedded bliss in the wasteland can’t be all that bad.

Kevin did not ask me to put this up on the website but since the GoFundMe page has links to post it to Facebook and Twitter, I took the initiative myself to create this post. Kevin can let me know if he wants me to remove it but until then, if you can help him and his wife out a little on their trip I know they and their daughter will appreciate it. I will be making a small donation myself on Friday.

Congrats to the whole family: Kevin, Debbie and Chelsea (and some guy Chelsea is marrying who’s name is suspiciously left out of the GoFundMe page by the soon-to-be father-in-law… hmm.. haven’t come to terms with that yet Kevin?)

If you can, help spread a little cheer their way today. Might as well, Florida is about to be wiped off the map in a couple hours. All that damn GLOBAL WARMING don’t ya know.

  1. Gotta believe in Love. I don’t know a more cynical bastard on the face of this little round world than me, but I’ve got enough rings around my bark to know for sure….Never be pessimistic. What was that old song? “You got to have a dream. If you don’t have a dream….How you gonna make a dream come true.” Gotta believe….even if it seems totally ridiculous….smile deeply and strongly inside….no matter. After a while you will see signs that it worked. It’s true. The reason I’m such a freakin’ genius is I had to learned from my mistakes (how do you write a gajillion?). And the worst mistake was whenever I let negativity rule me….it’s like your own private zombie apocalypse. Stay friends and love each other into ripe old age. Good luck, kids, be happy….God bless you and may you always laugh to keep from crying.

Washington DC is cheering the news that Brazil’s Senate has voted 61-20 to remove President Dilma Rousseff from office.

Back in May 2016 the Brazilian senate had temporarily suspended Rousseff under the absurd and meaningless pretext of “fiscal irregularities.”

Politicians mounted the coup to protect themselves. When Rousseff failed to quash a wide-ranging government investigation into a political bribery scandal involving the state oil company (Petrobras), politicians removed her so they could end all investigations into their crimes.

Rousseff will be replaced by Michel Temer, an arch-neoliberal who is one of the accused, and who became interim president in May 2016. Temer named a Cabinet of all white males in a country that is more than 50% non-white. All cabinet members are fanatic neo-liberals.

Temer will serve out the remainder of Rousseff’s term through 2018.

Rousseff said it was “an irony of history” that she was being judged for crimes she did not commit by people accused of serious crimes.

In response to the coup, Bolivian President Evo Morales and Ecuador’s president Rafael Correa removed their ambassadors from Brazil.
