MAJOR SHIFT in Erdogan’s Relations with Imperialist US… and the Barzani Clan (yes, you read that right): Did He Sell Out to Greater Kurdistan?

by Scott Creighton

I don’t know what to think of this so I am going to put this info out there for you guys to consider and maybe you can let me know what you think.

I started my morning off in the usual way, skimming the Times, al Jazeera, the Post, HuffPuff, Fox “News”, Daily Blow… you know, the usual crap just to get a feel for the daily dose of excrement they are shoveling our way today, when I came across a story that made me stop and do a double-take:

Erdogan Aiding Coalition Partners in Cross-border Attack on “ISIS™” in Syria

What? I thought “ah, that’s just the Times doing their propaganda thing” until, I saw it again:

Turkey and U.S.-backed forces take on Islamic State border town in Syria

So I thought “oh, OK. The Times and the Post feeding off each others’ BS” so I decided to take a look at some Turkish papers in order to get some clarification:

LIVE: Turkish military, coalition forces launch ‘Euphrates Shield’ operation in Jarablus

There it is again. Now it has a name “Operation Euphrates Shield” but I dismissed it YET AGAIN because, AH… Hurriyet Daily is a Dogan Media Group paper, a Gulenist rag, so I figured I would check out the Daily Sabah and get the REAL SCOOP:

Wednesday’s anti-Daesh operation, called Euphrates Shield, aims to support U.S.-led coalition forces, strengthen Turkey’s border security by clearing away terrorist groups and maintain Syria’s territorial integrity.” Daily Sabah

Are you fucking kidding me? Recep Erdogan just survived a damn coup orchestrated from the Pentagon and US State Department in conjunction with the monied interests behind Fethullah Gülen and just recently he started bombing the CIA’s new darling freedom fighters in Syria… and now he’s teaming up with TEAM USA WORLD POLICE to literally invade Syria to stop the CIA’s “ISIS™”? The same “ISIS™” the coalition let leave Manbij a couple weeks ago so they could head north to this city?

Is that a joke?

But wait.. it gets worse. Much, much worse.

Yes, “ISIS™” reportedly bombed a wedding this weekend in Turkey killing scores of innocent people (funny isn’t it, how when things are going so bad for US interests in Syria with regard to Turkey, that “ISIS™” decides to attack again in a brutal way, thus driving Erdogan and Turkey back into the warm fuzzy fold of the masters of the universe)

As horrific as that is, it doesn’t (or shouldn’t) provide Erdogan cover for he’s doing. And in order to see what I’m talking about, you have to look at the bigger picture.

Yesterday, our puppet dictator in what is called “Iraqi Kurdistan”, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) President Masoud Barzani, arrived in Turkey for high level meetings with Turkish officials and they rolled out the red carpet for him:

Turkish Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Feridun Sinirlioğlu welcomed the autonomus KRG’s leader at the Esenboğa Airport in Ankara.

Barzani was scheduled to meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at 6 p.m. and Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım at 8 p.m. along with Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu during the visit. Hurriyet Daily

That’s pretty impressive. Erdogan says he opposes the creation of Greater Kurdistan and yet here he is meeting with it’s presumptive dictator along with all the other important heads of state in Turkey. That’s pretty odd isn’t it?

Not only that, but Vice President Joe Biden is in town as well meeting with Erdogan on the same fucking day, today. I guess that makes sense. You have the puppet dictator coming in to do a show in Turkey, I guess you got to have the puppet master with him pulling the strings.

“The relations of Turkey and the United States were not in a very good state before the failed coup attempt on July 15. However, since then relations have taken a turn for the worst. As Vice President Joe Biden visits Turkey today, he is facing four pressing items on the agenda.” al Jazeera

Let’s see if we got the timing all worked out:

  • The Corporate States of America tries and fails a coup attempt in Turkey, people are killed by coup leaders
  • CIA’s puppets in Turkish military are arrested and removed from power
  • Turkey attacks some Kurdish targets in Syria as they vie for control of Syrian land west of the Euphrates
  • The CIA’s “ISIS™” bombs a wedding in Turkey and the pro-PKK groups use it as a chance to incite more violence
  • The Greater Kurdistan puppet dictator shows up for a meeting with all the heads of state in Turkey yesterday
  • Joe Biden of the Corporate States of America shows up for talks today
  • And… Erdogan launches what is effectively a ground invasion of Syria called “Operation Euphrates Shield” ON THE VERY SAME DAY

We got that so far? Just wait… we aren’t  done yet…

1:58 p.m. – Syrian Foreign Ministry condemns crossing of Turkish tanks into Syria as a breach of sovereignty, Reuters has reported quoting Syrian state TV.

12:05 p.m. -The aim of this operation is to sweep ISIL from our borders,” Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has said, adding that Free Syrian Army troops have also crossed the border. He added that Ankara was cooperating with coalition forces in terms of air support.

It would appear from several sources that Turkish incursion into Syria is not only in support of NATO’s coalition of regime change assholes, but ALSO in support of their fucking terrorists, the “Free Syrian Army”

“Having already declared that PYD presence on the west bank of the river is a threat to its national security, Turkey has declared that it will support the Free Syrian Army in an operation to liberate Jarablus from Daesh terrorist group.” Daily Sabah

Look at what was said there: they claim they don’t want the Kurdish PYD west of the river so they have decided to team up with the FSA (and TEAM AMERICA WORLD POLICE) to clear some more territory for our regime change proxy warriors in Syria.

Also notice exactly WHO they are fighting and bombing in terms of WHICH Kurds: the PYD and the PKK.

In an article I wrote the other day about this situation in Syria, I mentioned how a prominent Kurdish leader in the country was saying the US better take care not to back “the wrong Kurds” in this fight and that, according to him, the “wrong Kurds” were the PYD and the PKK.

I wrote about his connections to something called the Kurdish National Council which was literally created by corrupt neoliberal puppet Barzani from  “Iraqi Kurdistan”

The Kurdish National Council was founded in Hawler on 26 October 2011, under the sponsorship of Kurdish Regional Government President Massoud Barzani..” Wiki

The Barzani clan of independence seeking Kurds stand in opposition to the PYD for one very important reason:

Despite its current apparent strength in Syria, the group’s leader, Salih Muslim, claims that the group desires Kurdish autonomy within a new democratic Syria rather than Kurdish independenceARA news, Aug. 3, 2016

That’s right. The PYD are not the Kurds who wish to create Obama’s “New Middle East” via Greater Kurdistan. They actually wish to remain Syrian.

So here we have Erdogan and various leaders in Turkey meeting with Barzani and condemning the same group of Kurds that our regime change/nation building State Department condemns because of their influence in the Syrian territories that we wish to ethnically cleanse for our new nation.

You with me so far?

Now take a look at this: this Turkish/FSA incursion into Syrian territory is taking place in and around Jarablus city which just happens to coincide with another recent news story.

Manbij is where US and French planes bombed the shit out of civilian targets killing all sorts of innocent people in order to clear the way for the Kurds to come in and “mop up pockets of resistance” to their rule.

In case you forgot, the US and coalition forces ALLOWED “ISIS™” TO PACK UP AND LEAVE THE CITY AND HEAD NORTH….

NORTH… TO JARABLUS CITY where they now serve as the pretext for another invasion/bombing campaign.

Here is a piece of artwork I did explaining what happened:exporting isis

Exporting ISIS™: Obama’s Generals Allow Hundreds of ISIS™ Fighters to Flee Manbij on Route to Turkey, the Next Destabilization Project

Take a close look at that map. It doesn’t get any more accurate than that when it comes to Syria. East of the river will be Greater Kurdistan as the US shipped “ISIS™” up the road to the next depopulation project.

I’m sorry, but it would seem President Erdogan has decided to go all-in with the coalition operation to bust off a piece of Syria for Greater Kurdistan just so long as it is run by the US’s puppet dictator Barzani.

I wrote a while ago that Russia seems to have cut a deal with the Kurds for the creation of Greater Kurdistan and at one point they even seemed to threaten Assad if he got in the way of the plan.

Perhaps faced with the revelation that he was fighting both sides of a phony conflict (US and Russia), Erdogan decided to cut his losses and cut a deal with the Great Satan and the Russian bear. But if he did, he has to know that Greater Kurdistan is essentially worthless to all parties involved if they don’t bust off a rather large chunk of Turkey to go with it.

Penny and I have been two of the very few investigative journalists out here writing consistently about this project and it’s potential ramifications as the next regime change operation in the sequence, the one in Turkey, took shape.

While many so-called “truth tellers” regurgitated the MSM propaganda about Erdogan, we saw it for what it was and suffered the “slings and arrows of outrageous fortune” to bring you the truth about what was happening and why we needed to stand up against it just as we did with Gaddafi in Libya and Assad in Syria. And for that, I am certainly proud of my work.

These new developments are an aberration of Turkish policy, not a continuation of them. Which begs the question: why?

That’s a hard one to understand.

Perhaps now that his power is solidified in Turkey, Erdogan is receiving the gold standard of bribing from the masters of the universe. After all, Mr. Biden is there meeting with Erdogan simultaneously with his puppet dictator Barzani.

Perhaps Recep understands the folks that run “ISIS™” will continue to bomb the weddings of his citizens until he cuts a deal with the Greater Kurdistan project.

Perhaps the Russians leaving that Iranian airport where they were running bombing campaigns against “ISIS™” is a clue as well.

As I said before, I don’t know what this means, but it did happen, it is happening. And the Syrians don’t want Turkey rolling tanks into their country and shelling targets in that city in support of Obama’s moderate terrorists, the Free Syrian Army, so for me, that says a lot as well.

To me it looks like right now, at this time, when everyone and their mother in the complicit MSM is saying Obama needs to invade Syria, having Erdogan cutting deals with Biden and meeting with Barzani and shuttling tanks across the border to back our proxy terrorists in Syria in order to fend off the SAME FUCKING CIA-BACKED “ISIS™” TERRORIST WE LET WALK OUT OF MANBIJ is a really bad sign no matter how you look at it. There’s no way Erdogan comes out of this without looking like he sold out to the Greater Kurdistan project for whatever reason.

If you guys have anymore insight, let me know.

  1. Hey Scott: I believe Barazani met with Erdogan the day before the Biden visit, not on the same day

    rouge kAugust 23, 2016 at 8:54 AM

Barzani hits Ankara one day before booze swilling Biden

“Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) President Masoud Barzani arrived in Ankara on Aug. 23 for a series of key talks, one day before U.S. Vice President Joe Biden’s planned visit to the Turkish capital”

I have concerns that Turkey is being set up for an expanded no fly zone- It’s possible and is something I wrote about here:

    • this article was written today:

“Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) President Masoud Barzani arrived in Ankara on Aug. 23 for a series of key talks, one day before U.S. Vice President Joe Biden’s planned visit to the Turkish capital.

Turkish Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Feridun Sinirlioğlu welcomed the autonomus KRG’s leader at the Esenboğa Airport in Ankara.

Barzani was scheduled to meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at 6 p.m. and Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım at 8 p.m. along with Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu during the visit.” source

I don’t know what difference the day makes, but from what I understand, they are meeting today with him, not yesterday.

    • ah… it was yesterday. my bad. he’s meeting with Turkish parliament today and Biden is still in town of course.

“They discussed the closure of schools in the Kurdistan Region tied to the Gulen movement, Kurdish groups in Turkey and Syria – the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and the Democratic Union Party (PYD), the upcoming offensive to liberate Mosul from Islamic State (ISIS), and Turkey’s role in the war on ISIS, according to Turkish newspaper Daily Sabah…The Kurdistan Region Presidency in a statement on Tuesday explained the goal of the visit was to discuss political and economic ties, and latest developments in the region.”

  2. A bit more of what I had wrote from that post:

“Yesterday anonymous commenter made mention of the no fly zone potential:

    AnonymousJune 28, 2016 at 7:59 AM
and the syria no fly inches closer

Changes that were made three weeks ago which will make no fly zone implementation easier

Turkey has adjusted its military rules of engagement to allow NATO allies to carry out more patrol flights along its border with northern Syria, a Turkish official said Tuesday.

    What Turkish official said that?

“Some NATO countries, especially Britain, complained that they could not perform enough patrol flights on Turkey’s Syrian border as the engagement rules were too strict,” the official told Reuters.

“After talks … Turkey eased these engagement rules to bring them in line with NATO policies,” he said. NATO was told about the move around three weeks ago, the official said, but coalition countries had not yet carried out additional flights.

Turkey eased engagement rules to bring them in line with NATO policies three weeks ago”

Prior to the coup attempt- these rules are still in effect..

If the US was planning a no fly zone- which they were prior to the coup when all their lackies were firmly in place the rules were changed to favour NATO interventionist policies

I’m waiting to see how this plays out- too early in the day to call

    If that helps at all?

    • sure. we all understand that Turkey is the next chunk of Greater Kurdistan they intend to collect. And yes, it could be the “carpet of gold or a carpet of bombs” deal. So, the threat of a no fly zone over Turkey is a real possibility in the future. but what does that mean in terms of Erdogan’s deal with Biden, Barzani and the Free Syrian Army terrorists he is supporting with tanks in direct opposition to the wishes of the Syrian government? What does it mean in terms of timing when everyone is pushing Obama to invade Syria with “boots” on the ground and Erdogan steps up to the plate and does if for him?

      • Hey Willy: I understand what your getting at, but, I just don’t know

” Erdogan’s deal with Biden, Barzani and the Free Syrian Army terrorists he is supporting with tanks in direct opposition to the wishes of the Syrian government?”

Not sure that there is a deal at this point and I’ve been paying attention to what Biden is saying… he’s paying lip service to Turkey, that’s it!

        He’s giving nothing.
We’ll work with you… we understand..
        empty words.
If there was a deal I’d think he’d be more genuine… he’s not

Biden calls on Turkey to patient regarding Gulen

“He also warned that President Barack Obama wouldn’t intervene in the extradition process.

“We should make clear under American law that no president of the United States has authority to extradite anyone under his own power, that only an American court can do that.

“Were a president to attempt to do that, it would be an impeachable offence,” he said.”

Biden: “It’s never understood that the wheels of justice move deliberately and slowly,” Biden said. “It’s totally understandable why the people of Turkey are angry. But there should be no doubt that we will continue to work closely with the Turkish government as this process unfolds.”

And notice he is meeting Yildrim, not Erdogan?

Turkey’s prime minister again called on the U.S. to speed up the process in the Gulen case.

“If the process can be sped up for (Gulen) to be returned to our country in order to be punished, if our co-operation in this regard continues to grow, then the Turkish people’s sorrow, its disappointment in this regard will quickly give way to positive sentiments,” Yildirim said.

        Biden brought nothing to Turkey

        • so you think it’s the US’s position to immediately release all the details of backdoor negociations as they happen in real time?

What about Turkey sending tanks in to help the CIA’s Free Syrian Army take more land in Syria?

What about them saying it’s cool for the Kurds to take Syrian land east of the river?

What about the meetings with the US’s puppet Barzani, the brutal dictator in what they call “Iraqi Kurdistan” and the projected leader of Greater Kurdistan?

What about all of this happening on the same day SOMEONE meets with Joe Biden?

          Is that all just coincidence?

          • nope I don’t think it’s coincidence at all… I’m not sure what it is at this time- other then the 1 possibility I’ve already mentioned the US set Turkey up for the fall… sure go ahead and enter the area..
then kaboom- we’ll bomb the heck out of ya.
            it’s possible.

It’s also possible Barzani is seeing the writing on the wall- him being kicked to the curb so he went to make a deal with the Turks
cause there is definite tension between Barzani loyalists and the PKK

            I just don’t know 😦

            • i am writing an update article. it may be more convoluted than I thought but it also might signal something else entirely

              • scott one last thing I just thought of!

the US had told Turkey they would remove the Kurdish forces from Manbij once ISIS was cleared-

“The U.S. and the President Barack Obama personally promised that PYD members in the SDF would be withdrawn to the east of the Euphrates River. Now the U.S. must keep its promise, and we expect them to. We are maintaining our communications regarding this matter.”

Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavusoglu reminded U.S. President Barack Obama on Monday that he had personally made a promise to withdraw the Syrian PKK affiliate Democratic Union Party’s (PYD) armed People’s Protection Units (YPG) to the east of the Euphrates once the Manbij operation
He said he and Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag will pay an official visit to the U.S. to convey a new document including evidence of Gülen’s involvement in the recent coup attempt”

We know the US did not keep their word.. did they do so knowing Turkey would act?

                • i just posted an update article. it appears Biden has cut a deal with Erdogan. He said publicly that the Kurds need to move back across the river which means they will have to leave Manbij to the Syrians. You should read the article. it’s interesting.

  3. Scott going to disagree with you here. The operations main aim is to stop the Kurds from connecting their cantons. Turkey very recently stated Assad can stay for the first time (they say interim to save face).

It is likely Assad’s condemnation is part of the slow rapprochement. Just a few months ago Russia was threatening to bomb Turkish incursions into Syria. Clearly, Erdogan has the green light from Assad and Putin.

The FSA is an umbrella term which also includes US backed regime change forces. But even the FSA is opposed to partition of their country + there are groups within the FSA that are Turkish proxies vs US such as the Turkomans which are more significant in this current conflict.

I’m afraid you haven’t been able to pick up the nuances regarding these developing circumstances.

The name of the operations (EuphratesShield) is a message to the US regarding the red line the Turks have been talking about for quite some time.

And finally, would you be able to propose a better way right now to prevent Kurds form connecting cantons? Full normalization with Assad won’t work, Assad is far away and bogged down in Aleppo.

ps: I don’t necessarily think the operation starting today may have something to do with Biden. But it might have something to do with this?

“The Battle of Marj Dābiq was a decisive military engagement in Middle Eastern history, fought on 24 August 1516 (same date exactly 500 years ago :D), near the town of Dabiq, 44 km north of Aleppo, Syria. The battle was part of the Ottoman–Mamluk War (1516–17) between the Ottoman Empire and the Mamluk Sultanate, which ended in an Ottoman victory and conquest of much of the Middle East”

    • yes, assad can stay. But stay in what is the question? Stay in control of ALL of Syria or just a small part west of the river? that’s the question. and yes, he has the OK from Russia… but it’s a little early to be suggesting Assad is all in on this one. at least, that is what the SANA says

“The source stressed that Syria condemns this blatant violation of its sovereignty and affirms that fighting terrorism isn’t done by ousting ISIS and replacing it with other terrorist organizations backed directly by Turkey.

“What is happening in Jarablos now isn’t fighting terrorism as Turkey claims; rather it is replacing one type of terrorism with another,” the source said, adding that Syria requests putting an end to this aggression and calls on the United Nations to implement its resolutions, in addition to stressing the need for the Turkish side and the US-led alliance to respect international resolutions, particularly those related to closing borders and drying up the sources of terrorism.”

      • Still, I have no doubt this operation was to prevent the Kurds from connecting their cantons. It was the best available move. And regarding the “Anti-Isis coalition”, ofc that’s what the Turks are calling it. They couldn’t have said Anti Kurdish coalition, which is exactly what it is.

    • “The name of the operations (EuphratesShield) is a message to the US regarding the red line the Turks have been talking about for quite some time.”

Right. That’s exactly what I said… they are willing to allow the Kurds to steal part of Syria EAST of the river. What part of that don’t you understand?

“And finally, would you be able to propose a better way right now to prevent Kurds form connecting cantons? Full normalization with Assad won’t work, Assad is far away and bogged down in Aleppo.”

Yeah, get the Kurds who want to break off a piece of Syria to create Greater Kurdistan the hell out of the country. Turkey should be bombing them on BOTH sides of the river and fully supporting Assad’s efforts in that regard so that ALL of Syria remains SYRIA. that’s not to hard to figure out.

“ps: I don’t necessarily think the operation starting today may have something to do with Biden.”

Then you would be wrong according to the Council on Foreign Relations:

“Turkey sent tanks, warplanes, and special operations forces into a border region of Syria on Wednesday as part of the U.S.-led coalition’s push to force the self-proclaimed Islamic State from the town of Jarablus. The operation marks Turkey’s largest military operation to date in the Syrian conflict (NYT) and comes as U.S. Vice President Joe Biden arrived in Ankara (Hurriyet) to meet Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Binali Yildirim. “

Is there anything else you would like to help me and my readers understand or are we done here?

  4. You can bet Erdogan is playing a double game, making soft cooing noises to Putin and at the same time, telling the EU if they let Turkey in now, and toss in a few billion Euros, he’s their man.

  5. The United States don’t have friends or foes – only interests. And the same goes for everybody else.

  6. Erdogan is obviously walking a multiple knife-edge and doing the best he can to stay afloat.

He just thwarted the CIA/Gulen coup so he knows the US is ready to kill him, and he knows that without an explicit commitment from Russia to protect Turkey he is out on a very brittle limb with NATO. He should generally be inclined not to have too serious or insurmountable problems with his neighbor Syria.

Of course the Syrian regime change is being run largely from and by Turkey, but I would not be surprised if Assad knows exactly the rocks and hard places that Erdogan is between and doesn’t hold it too much against him. I imagine that Assad knows that Erdogan is not so much against Syria themselves as trying to placate NATO and get some Kurd eradication in the process because he came to power with Turkey already in bed with NATO – which Assad may not hold against him as much as some might imagine – they can deal with that level of insult without destroying relations I suspect.

So it looks to me like Erdogan is putting on a nice show of pretty much still being on NATO’s side – both helping them insert more proxy fighters into the Jarabulus corridor and helping himself by blasting the YPG off of the west bank of the Euphrates while pretending he’s blasting ISIS™. So he is both placating the US by seeming cooperative AND using the occasion to clear out some YPG Kurds from his border area – probably the safest strategy for Erdogan under the current circumstances.

As everyone here knows, ISIS is always an off-the-shelf a-la-carte asset or target that can always be used by the US for any purpose pro or con. If they need someone attacked they can have ISIS do it. If they need to show they are fighting tur’rists they can blast ISIS to smithereens or let others do it – ISIS is obviously the Swiss Army knife of regime change tactics and can be used for any purpose. I wouldn’t be surprised if the US had ISIS go hang out near the YPG in Jarabulus long enough to be ID’s and targeted, then they slip out quietly and Turkey/US forces then blast the YPG to smithereens claiming they were ISIS or some such scam.

I’m guessing that Erdogan is basically running this mini-incursion to protect himself with respect to several pressing situations, and so is basically doing the MINIMUM he feels necessary to placate the US from immediately sending a cruise missile into his office, also trying to keep on the good side of Assad and Russia to the greatest extent possible but not without problems, stop the Kurds from gaining territory, all while keeping an eye on Israel who is capable of anything.

Erdogan meeting Barzani may be an “Israel” deal – what do you all think?
