Back to the Hospital

by Scott Creighton

Hi folks. A situation has been developing over the last few hours and I just received word I am heading back to the hospital for a few days. It’s nothing serious, they just have to get my INR therapeutic so it may be a couple of days I am away from the computer. Sorry about that. I will still be able to post comments via my phone so I will still be around. I’ll let you know when I am back. Send some love Jan10’s way, she’s having to relocate temporarily in order to watch over my furry family for me. You guys take care and I will see you soon.

Russia Vetoes Creation of UNSC Flight MH17 Kangaroo Tribunal

by Scott Creighton

Earlier this month, Malaysia introduced a request at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the formulation of an official tribunal which would “investigate” the downing of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 and then “prosecute and punish those found responsible

Joining Malaysia in this request were four countries: the Netherlands (NATO), Ukraine, Australia and Belgium (NATO). The United States quietly supported the action from behind the scenes.

The resolution was brought up yesterday in the Security Council and the final vote was 11-1 with Russia voting against the measure, thus vetoing it. China, Angola and Venezuela abstained.

It should be noted:

The State Department on Monday took Malaysia off a list of countries with particularly egregious human trafficking records, clearing the path for the country’s participation in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations, one of the top political priorities for the Obama administration.” The Intercept

Noam Chomsky on the Iranian Deal (video) and My Comments

by Scott Creighton

In this first video, it seems hard for Noam Chomsky to get his point across to al Jazeera’s Antonio Mora. That’s because it’s next to impossible for someone to learn something if their paycheck depends on them not learning it as is the case with Mr. Mora. And no, al Jazeera isn’t the truth-telling outlet they once were when they were the only news agency reporting on the Egyptian revolution back in 2011.

And here’s my take on this:

The Next Phase For The Push Into Syria Is Now Taking Place – Episode 727

(One thing he doesn’t seem to understand, taking this “safe zone” and using it as part of the new Kurdistan. That’s the plan. Not “giving it to Turkey” as he suggests.)

West Flirts With Fascism – Again

by Finian Cunningham, from Sputinik International

There seems little doubt that Western so-called democracies are gravitating toward increasingly autocratic politics. Executive power is being exercised by secret policy formulation, to be imposed on the electorate, or on other countries, with no regard for democratic oversight.

Western states are once again flirting with fascism – as in earlier dark periods over the past century.

Here is a recent snapshot of the disturbing trend. Britain’s Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond this week openly voiced his frustration with democratic process as something that is “cumbersome” for the pursuit of foreign military objectives.

Meanwhile, America’s top General Wesley Clark told US media that Washington needs the power to round up “disloyal” citizens in internment camps without due legal process.

Added to this is the condemnation also this week by France’s Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius of a French parliamentary delegation travelling to Russia on a fact-finding visit over the Ukraine crisis.

Then we have the ongoing diktat to the Greek people of their country’s financial policies, imposed by the European Union’s creditors led by German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

In each instance we see a sinister logic emboldened among Western states, whereby democratic mandate and legal standards are over-ridden by the ruling political class. What other way to describe this tendency but as a form of incipient fascism?

Three-year-old child from London placed in government anti-extremism programme

(Fascinating stuff. So a 3-year-old toddler has to go to reeducation camp because he’s been “radicalized” and that comes out the same day a Rupert Murdoch tabloid in England releases a video of the chairman of the UK’s Lords Privileges and Conduct Committee, Lord John Sewel, snorting coke with a couple hookers in his London flat. Apparently he was photographed wearing a bra and leather jacket and said Tony Blair went to war because “he fell in love with George W. Bush“. And this story comes right on the heels of another breaking story that showed how MI5 (their FBI) protected a member of Thatcher’s government when it was disclosed he was a pedophile with a “penchant for little boys”. And the 3-year-old is the one who’s “radicalized”?)

from the Independent

A three-year-old child from London is one of hundreds of young people in the capital who have been tipped as potential future radicals and extremists.

As reported by the Evening Standard, 1,069 people have been put in the government’s anti-extremism ‘Channel’ process, the de-radicalisation programme at the heart of the Government’s ‘Prevent’ strategy.

The three-year-old in the programme is from the borough of Tower Hamlets, and was a member of a family group that had been showing suspect behaviour.
