Obama Nominates Hunton & Williams’ DesignLine Corp for Sec. of Transportation

by Scott Creighton

The Dude Abides

We all know you can’t be a politician without being a wholly owned subsidiary of some corporation who’s interests are going to be related to the governmental position you seek. By the corporation, of the corporations and for the corporations. That’s how it works especially in the left-cover days we live in now.

Today it has been announced the President Peace Prize has nominated one Anthony Foxx of Charlotte, N.C. to replace Ray la Hood as Secretary of Transportation.

Boston Bombing: (video) Man Explains FBI Deleted His Photos of Bombing Scene While They Still “Searched” For Suspects

by Scott Creighton

A commenter left this link yesterday. It shows a teacher of some sort talking to a classroom about his trip to the Boston Marathon. He draws out a little map on the whiteboard explaining where he was when the bombs went off. At around 4:00 mark of the video he mentions the fact that the FBI claims they have some photos “they don’t share” when answering a student’s question and then adds that he had some photos of the crimes scene on his digital camera and the FBI showed up a day and a half after the bombing at his home and demanded to see his camera. He complied and they erased them.

Boston Bombing: The Unlikely Antics of Boston’s “Cowboy Hero”

by James Tracy, Memory Hole

Carlos Arredondo has been widely praised by an array of corporate news media as among the most valorous figures of the Boston Marathon bombing. He was “heralded as a true American hero,” the International Business Times gushes, having allegedly “risked his life to help the victims of the two explosions that rocked the Boston Marathon.”[1]

Washington fabricates chemical weapons pretext for war against Syria

by Bill Van Auken, WSWS

In an attempt to pave the way for a direct military intervention aimed at toppling the government of President Bashar al-Assad, Washington, its NATO allies, Israel and Qatar have all in recent days broadcast trumped-up charges that Syria has used chemical weapons.

In a letter to members of Congress Thursday, the White House declared, “The US intelligence community assesses with some degree of varying confidence that the Syrian regime has used chemical weapons on a small scale in Syria.”

In the midst of a Middle East tour dedicated to arranging a $10 billion deal to provide Israel and the right-wing Arab monarchies with advanced weaponry directed against Iran, US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel denounced the chemical weapons use, saying it “violates every convention of warfare.” He went on to acknowledge, “We cannot confirm the origin of these weapons, but [they] …very likely have originated with the Assad regime.”

Similarly, British Prime Minister David Cameron charged Syria with a “war crime,” stating: “It’s limited evidence, but there’s growing evidence that we have seen too of the use of chemical weapons, probably by the regime.”

All of these convoluted statements—“with some degree of varying confidence,” “cannot confirm the origin of these weapons,” “limited evidence” and “probably by the regime”—underscore the fraudulent character of these accusations.

Latin America Unites to Tell Uncle Sam “Hands Off Venezuela”

by Glen Ford, BAR

Venezuela has entered a new period of grave danger, the most perilous since George Bush backed an attempted coup against the late Hugo Chavez’s government in 2002. Earlier this month, Chavez’s successor, Nicolas Maduro, won a narrow victory over the U.S.-backed candidate Henrique Capriles, a front man for the business interests that still control most of the media and much of the economy in the country. Although the governing United Socialist Party won by only 1.6 percent of the vote, Venezuela’s elections system is so transparent – the best in the world, according to former U.S. President Jimmy Carter – there is virtually no chance that the opposition was cheated of victory. But that’s irrelevant to both Republican and Democratic regimes in Washington, which have never acknowledged the legitimacy of the Chavez revolution, no matter how many elections it won, by whatever margin. As the greatest disrespecter of democratic elections in the western hemisphere, the United States refused to recognize the results, holding out for a 100 percent audit, or recount. Naturally, Washington’s stooge in the race, Capriles, took the same position, and sent his people into the streets to create an atmosphere of crisis and instability. Washington also got the European Union to parrot the American line.

Boston Bombings: Carlos Arredondo is “Cowboy Hat Guy”? Waving his Bloody Flag Around like a Prize? Bullshit

by Scott Creighton

motivational speaker 5Bullshit! Total fucking bullshit!

I have been very careful not to call into question too much about the Jeff Bauman story for fear that questioning the legitimacy of his injuries would distance our efforts from the general public. But I have to say this: BULLSHIT!

Boston Bombing: Federal Affidavit Fails too Mention Green Honda, Contradicts Witness “Danny” on Many Counts

by Scott Creighton

Found this on NBC “News’ today… they’re trying to fix a little problem we noticed a couple days ago… that is, the federal affidavit claims that both brothers rode in the stolen SUV with the secret witness all the way to Watertown. But if that’s the case, how come the witness says something else (now) and there happens to be images of the shootout with both the SUV and the Green Honda parked in the street (with nothing stopping them from getting away from the cops at the other end)

“After the Cambridge shooting, the suspects carjacked a Mercedes 350 SUV at gunpoint, according to a federal affidavit. Both suspects rode in the SUV to Watertown, the affidavit says.

However, photographs obtained by NBC News and eyewitness accounts given to NBC News producers indicate that both a green Honda and black Mercedes SUV were parked at the scene of the Watertown shooting. Several people who were near the scene that night said the Honda was positioned behind the Mercedes.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has been moved from the hospital to a federal prison at Fort Devens, Mass., the government said on Friday.” NBC News

Massachusetts State Police conducted a reenactment of the scene to see if they could figure out their little problem.

Below is the text of the affidavit and as you can see, there is no mention of both the SUV and the other car, the green Honda, going to Watertown. This federal affidavit is based on the statement given to the police by the secret witness and police statements from those who supposedly chased the SUV. If they were chasing two cars, don’t you think they would have noticed it?

The affidavit, the witness statements and the physical evidence on the scene (including the AP’s revelation that no guns were recovered except for the one supposedly used by Tamerlan on Thursday night during that “shootout”) are all in stark contrast with one another. This is a major problem for the peddlers of the “no questions asked” official story.
