H.R. 4133: One Tattered Lie After Another Passes in the House of Representatives

by Scott Creighton

UPDATE: read Philip Giraldi’s take on this: The Israel Lobby Never Sleeps

Unbelievable. On May 9th 2012, the “United States-Israel Enhanced Security Cooperation Act of 2012” act was passed by the House of Representatives by a landslide. Only two representatives voted against the act, John Dingle and Ron Paul. In fact, to his credit, Rep. Paul gave a rather eloquent speech in the House urging his fellow representatives to vote against it.

Written by Eric Cantor, the act itself is a rather impressive collection of tissue thin lies, deliberate misinformation, pandering of the most obscene type, and historical revisionism the likes of which I haven’t seen since Disney’s last Pocahontas film.

In essence the act presents the need to provide Israel with unlimited military and commercial aid due to all the turmoil being caused by the so-called “Arab Spring”. It also calls for giving Israel an unlimited line of credit from our Fed as well as creating for them an “expanded role in NATO” including an “enhanced presence at NATO headquarters and exercises”

I guess 3 billion a year in free military aid wasn’t enough for our “friends” over in Israel while we cut back on social spending and force retirees to eat out of garbage cans. Now it seems that we have to finance even more of their all-too-common attacks on their neighbors (2006 , Dec. 2008, May 2010 ) and warmongering toward Iran and Syria as well as certain sectors of their business community.

We also have to confirm our commitment to keep Israel a “Jewish State” regardless of that little “separation of Church and State” clause in our own constitution and promise as well to veto any pesky U.N. Security Council resolutions that may seek to hold the Jewish State of Israel accountable to international laws.

Not to mention the fact that the resolution declares that we need to further enhance our counter-terrorism cooperation with Israel as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu illegally consolidates power and launches his internal and external war on the dreaded “international leftists”

What is most sickening about all of this (and there is a lot to be sickened by) is the tapestry of absolute lies written into the bill itself which will probably be looked back on by historians as an abomination of historical revisionism. Let’s take a look at a few of the choice, juicy lies, which, by all probability, your representative voted for (and possibly cosponsored)

Lie #1 and #2:

Since 1948, United States Presidents and both houses of Congress, on a bipartisan basis and (1) supported by the American people, have repeatedly reaffirmed the special bond between the United States and Israel, based on (2) shared values and shared interests.

Have the American people really supported the “special bond” between the U.S. and Israel since 1948? I find that hard to believe in light of all the effort Israel and her propagandists have to exert to keep the appearance of support from the people of the United States and especially during the last five incidents (attack of Southern Lebanon, Operation Cast Lead, Attacking the Freedom Flotilla, disclosure of various assignations inside Iran, constant warmongering about attacking Iran just to force the U.S. into yet another protracted war for their benefit)

As to those “shared values”… I don’t think we are currently keeping a population of 1.2 million people locked in what has been called “the largest open air prison in the world” nor are we currently forcing an even larger population to exist in what can only be described as an apartheid state in the West Bank while we illegally occupy their nation (though we certainly have done so in the past and Afghanistan may in fact qualify for the latter as a relative comparison)

These so-called “shared values” are those the ruling class in Israel share with the rulers of this country. The exploitation of the working classes, the need to provide even more profit to the oligarchs, the violent repression of dissent. These are the “shared values” of which our friends in congress write but they are certainly not our shared values in terms of values shared by the American people.

Iran, (3) which has long sought to foment instability and promote extremism in the Middle East, is now seeking to (4) exploit the dramatic political transition underway in the region to undermine governments traditionally aligned with the United States and support extremist political movements in these countries.

Iran has not sought to ferment instability and extremism in the Middle East. In fact, Iran hasn’t attacked anyone outside their borders in over 200 years. How many countries have we attacked in that time frame? How many has Israel attacked since 1948? Quite the opposite actually. It’s the United States and Israel and their NATO allies that are looking to use the Arab Spring to overthrow various nations on their decades old “enemy list” which was exposed by Gen. Westley Clark a couple years ago. We used terrorists in a destabilization campaign in Libya and are currently doing the same thing in Syria right now as we speak. That is to say nothing of Israel and the United States teaming up to create the new nation of “South Sudan” and launching similar terrorist attacks in Sudan in order to force yet another “regime change”. The instability which has ensued and the violent toll on civilian life is mounting. Israel continues to posture herself as ready to launch a pre-emptive strike against Iran and absolutely NOTHING could be more destabilizing in the Middle East than that act right now. Again, that is to say noting of our war on Iraq which was based entirely on various lies and deceit conducted by our government and aided by a complicit MSM.

At the same time, (5) Iran may soon attain a nuclear weapons capability, a development that would fundamentally threaten vital American interests, destabilize the region, encourage regional nuclear proliferation, further empower and embolden Iran, (6) the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, and (7) provide it the tools to threaten its neighbors, including Israel.

These are the most egregious and obvious lies and therefore I will end with them. There are certainly more to be found reading the text of the laughingly sycophantic bill which you can read here.

Iran has no intention of acquiring a nuclear weapon and both the United States and Israel know that to be a fact. They have both admitted as much on several different occasions so now they have to slightly spin the “existentialist threat” line by implying as much without really saying it. I don’t know why they would do that in a text so full of other outright lies, but there it is. Yes, they “may” attain weapons capability just like I “may” suddenly be asked by the president of the United States to serve as his Middle East envoy and negotiator to the Israeli/Palestine conflict, but I doubt it is going to happen in this lifetime. The odds are severely stacked against it.

The truth is, the Mullahs that run Iran have stated repeatedly that it is against the law of Islam to have and use such weapons of mass destruction and indiscriminate killing devices such as nuclear weapons. Several studies are out there now detailing the fact that the Iranian ruling class not only does not have nuclear weapons nor are they pursuing nuclear weapons, but in fact they don’t have the intention of getting nuclear weapons in the first place. If I know this, so do your representatives in congress and therefore this statement is an all out fabrication… a lie.

Next, contrary to popular belief, WE are the worlds leading sponsor of terrorism. We have been for quite sometime. Look up “contras” and the historical roots of “al Qaeda” or the current push to literally sponsor the MEK if you have any doubt about that. Just look up the history of our CIA destabilization campaigns. All the information is there from declassified records. It’s not to much to expect an informed and attentive population, is it?

Once again, Iran has not threatened it’s neighbors for the past 200 years and since it is obviously not looking to attain a nuclear weapon as the document claims, then obviously they are not doing it to threaten Israel. That’s absurd.

One more just for the fun of it:

As a result, (8) the strategic environment that has kept Israel secure and safeguarded United States national interests for the past 35 years has eroded.

This is just plain crazy. Israel is one of the few undeclared nuclear powers in the world with an estimated 200-300 nuclear weapons and they enjoy the unrelenting support of the world’s most powerful military no matter how crazy their warmongering becomes. Israel is absolutely one of the most powerful military powers in the Middle East… period. No one… I repeat… no one is talking about invading Israel while they seem to be looking to invade pretty much everyone except the dictatorial regimes that seem to be our only friends in the region.

If their security environment has eroded over the past few years it has nothing to do with the actions of Iran and Syria, Hizballah and Hamas and everything to do with how the Likudniks in Israel are constantly warmongering against Iran and Syria, Hizballah and Hamas. It also has to do with how the rest of the civilized world views their recent actions. That’s why Israel is paying top dollar to try to propagandize the citizens of this country and the European Union as well.

This is a very bad piece of legislation folks. It could be that they are just stoking the fires of discontent in Iran, trying to make it look like the U.S. will eventually support Israel’s “first strike” on that nation. Part of a plan to create fear and loathing in Iran in order to persuade them to change regimes midstream (a form of terrorism by the way)

But in reality, the Chinese and the Russians have no intentions of abandoning their support for Iran (and Syria for that matter). So I am not as sure as Ron Paul is that this will definitely lead to war. In fact, his making that claim seems to help the Israeli and U.S. threat even more than if he simply voted for the bill.

I could be that this bill is simply looking to find a replacement for France who may now be taking a step back from her NATO warmongering stance she took under the rule of their previous president, Sarkosy the American.

Hard to say at this time.

But it is infinitely embarrassing that this abomination passed in the House of Representatives by such a large margin. It just goes to show that we are never going to get out of the mess we are in by voting for one sycophant over the other. While Bibi consolidates power and Obama stoops to the gay rights issue to win back some support from his ever faltering base, we have to understand that this system, the “shared values and interests” of our ruling elites in the U.S. and Israel are anything but reflections of our values and interests and they will never be the same again until we decide it’s time to force them upon them.

  1. OMG … it sounds like Israel has been authorized to have a controlling power over our military and our Federal money and a controling vote at NATO…. is this a declaration that proves Israel actually controls America? Has this type of control ever been given to any foreign nation by any nation? Except when a war ends and the victor receives ‘rewards’… has our Government given America to Israel ….. we are boundary-enclosed slaves to Israel? And not the God loving parts of Israel but the god-users of Israel. The racists haters?

  2. hi Scott,Thanks again, been reading your excellent posts regularly over the past few years and as you know this news was not widely reported here in the uk, press tv the only news channel that dared question “the chosen peoples” tactics was taken off the air earlier this year. one question for you, when do you recon Joe public is actually going to wake up and question their congress?????

  3. This retiree has to share what he gets with his long-term, laid-off, out-of-work, able-bodied son, so that him and his wife don’t have to eat out of a garbage can. And that, along with votes like this one, makes damn sure that I share the values of my government so much that I will never vote for another incumbent.

  4. Um let’s see:

“More than 200,000 Americans are about to lose their extended unemployment benefits.

“In the next week, eight states, including Florida, will no longer be eligible for the Federal Extended Benefits program.” — WEAR-TV (ABC) May 12, 2012 —›

Meanwhile, every Israeli citizen enjoys free government paid healthcare for life, and all the other socialist trimmings.

Unemployed people in the U.S. should send letters of application for personal aid from Israel to their Senators and Congresspeople today. Don’t wait and miss out!

And DEMAND simple padded score NOW! It is so simple! Give yourself the POWER to deny or grant 10, or 11, or 12 votes to as many candidates as you desire. Break the fake “two-party” stranglehold!

  6. Is this where the piss and moan about everything club meets to crush the state and save the world while pretending to be journalists?

  7. Remember the USS Liberty.

  8. go Ron, or usa and world is screwed 😦

  9. Excellent article that hits the nail on the head. I’ve written my Congressman after claims were made in the past allegedly claiming the American people support this or that. I have received no response nor did I expect one. I am going to write the fool once more siting this article. I cannot believe the blatant denial by people when I bring Jewish power and control. Their lack of concern drives me crazy and this includes members of my own family.

In November, barring a brokered convention, its looks as though mainstream Americans will have the usual two choices. Obama or Romney. Well, I will write in my choice. I’m waiting for the following two events; Americans wake up to the two-sided one party system and a war breaks out where nobody shows up. I’ll not hold my breath though.
